A KOFA needs assessment is indicated when it is unclear which goals are being worked on and which measures are appropriate in a family system.
With family visits, the counselor gets an overview of the current situation within the family within 10-12 weeks. The resulting indication report provides information about the life situation of the family, the status of the parents' educational tasks and the developmental tasks of the parents and children, which is bundled in an overall assessment and concluded with recommendations for the next steps and suitable interventions.
Duration and Frequency of Assignments :
Two assignments per week, for a maximum of three months
Back Placement (Shelter Home And Rehabilitation)
A return placement (transitional support) is indicated if a child is to return from an institution (home, foster family or other) to the family of origin or a foster family. In order to ensure a sustainable and successful re-placement, barriers in the family of origin often have to be broken down before the system is ready to accept the child well. The focus is primarily on working with the parents, since, in contrast to the placed child, they have worked and changed less on themselves and the situation. Return placements/transition support are indicated where it is unclear whether the family system is ready to take a child back or whether the problem situation of the parents has changed little.
Duration and Frequency of Assignments:
At the beginning, if the child is still placed, one assignment per week with the family of origin (with the child or the parents, depending). After the return placement, two assignments per week to accompany the return well and to anchor it in the long term. Maximum duration 6 months with the possibility of extension.
