Family Support
It is indicated in ongoing stressful situations and the resulting undesirable development of the children. The families can independently apply, and practice discussed change steps and new behavior between the appointments.
If indicated, it is also indicated as a follow-up solution to family activation, family stabilization or intensive clarification.
Duration and Frequency of Family Support:
One assignment per week for six months
(with the possibility of extension)
Family Stabilization
It is indicated in an ongoing crisis, which poses a significant risk to the development of the children due to complex stresses. The well-being of the child is not acutely endangered at the time. For a change to be achieved, these families need intensive on-site guidance to learn and practice new behaviors.
Duration and frequency of family stabilization:
Two assignments per week for six months
(with the possibility of extension)
Family Activation
Family activation is indicated for families in which, due to an acute crisis, rapid intervention to ensure the well-being of the child is imperative. In this dangerous situation, the placement of one or more children is often up for discussion. The affected families need intensive support to activate resources and to practice behavioral changes. Recommendations for follow-up interventions are made for the referring specialists.
Duration and Frequency of Family Activation:
Two to four assignments per week for about ten weeks
Intensive Investigation
It is indicated when the type and extent of the risk are unclear or a referring agency has insufficient reliable information about problems and resources in the children's families and living conditions. During the intensive assessment, an on-site check is carried out to determine whether children receive sufficient protection, security and support for their development. The central question is whether the ordering of child protection measures is necessary to ensure the child's well-being or whether voluntary support offers are sufficient.
The final report contains a professional assessment of the living conditions of the children, the parenting skills of the parents, the quality of parent-child interaction and the parents' ability to cope with everyday life, as well as their willingness to accept suggested support.
Duration and Frequency of Intensive Investigation:
Three to four assignments per week of varying duration for five to eight weeks.
Report after eight to ten weeks.
